Where ancient bison trails meet
modern adventure:
The new Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge

Since June 2025, visitors can immerse themselves deeply in the natural beauty and cultural spirit of Buffalo Pound Provincial Park with a stay at the brand-new Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge. Nestled in the heart of nature, this walk-in retreat features five thoughtfully designed tipi-style cabins, just 120 steps from the parking lot – close enough for convenience, yet far enough to ensure peace and seclusion.

Each cabin blends rustic charm with modern comfort and sustainability in mind: guests enjoy cozy interiors, stunning views, and private outdoor kitchens equipped with a sink, fridge, and firepit.

More than just a place to stay, the lodge offers a rich program of self-guided activities that honour Métis traditions and the healing power of the land. Every booking includes:

• Medicine Walk, inviting guests to connect with nature on a deeper level
• Bannock Making Kit, celebrating Métis culinary heritage
• Smudge Kit, fostering mindfulness and cultural reflection

Included in every stay are canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and even mini golf for up to four people, making it easy to enjoy the lake and its surroundings. Hiking, biking, campfires, stargazing, and outdoor games round out the experience, offering something for every season and traveller.

Thoughtfully designed and grounded in a spirit of respect, Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge extends the park experience into a meaningful overnight stay.

Heritage Outfitting:
Horseback adventures and overnight stays in Saskatchewan’s Grasslands

Heritage Outfitting is a family-run ranch shaped by five generations of prairie heritage. Nestled in Saskatchewan’s Grasslands and the Frenchman River Valley, it offers guests the chance to rediscover the land, prairie culture, and authentic Western hospitality.

Their signature adventures include:

• Cattle & Coulees
A two-hour guided ride through native prairie grasslands. Ride alongside wranglers, check cattle, and hear stories of generations who built a life on the land. End the tour fireside with sweet tea and bannock.

• Sunset Ride on the Divide
Explore the unique mixed-grass prairie on a two-hour evening ride. Learn about the land from your guide and finish with wine and a prairie-inspired dessert as the horizon glows at golden hour.

• Sky-Hi Sun & Stars Overnight Adventure
Includes a guided horseback ride with an intro lesson, dessert and a drink, and an overnight stay in a cozy bunkhouse with access to the cook shack and stargazing platform. Concludes with a hearty country breakfast and a morning ride featuring cattle-checks and horsemanship skills.

No prior riding experience is required. Guests receive a full orientation and safety briefing, with experienced guides ensuring confidence and comfort. Riding lessons are also available.

Overnight options include RV and tent sites or a rustic bunkhouse stay. Each bunkhouse sleeps four with a queen bed plus bunks or a daybed/trundle. Amenities include bedding, towels, a private outhouse, camp-style shower, portable AC/heater, and generator power.

Earth to Sky:
New glamping accommodation in
Echo Valley Provincial Park

Located in Saskatchewan’s scenic Echo Valley Provincial Park, the new Earth To Sky accommodations feature three private geodesic domes set amid pristine prairie landscapes. Each dome offers hot showers, flush toilets, a fully equipped kitchenette, fridge/freezer, two queen beds with premium linens, an indoor propane fireplace, heated floors, air conditioning, and indoor/outdoor dining areas with BBQ and firepit. Additional amenities include bedding, towels, cooking utensils, outdoor fire setups (wood or propane during bans), and parking for two vehicles.

Nestled between Echo and Pasqua Lakes in the Qu'Appelle Valley, Earth To Sky invites guests to unplug and explore the park’s lakes, beaches, hiking trails, and abundant outdoor activities. Minimum stay: two nights.

New: FlixBus service to Saskatchewan

FlixBus, a global transportation leader, launched new daily intercity bus routes connecting Calgary and Edmonton with Saskatoon and Regina. The service makes travel to Saskatchewan easier and more affordable, with fares starting at just $100 from Calgary to Regina for advance bookings.
