New Tipi Village at Waters Edge Eco Lodge

On the edge of Greig Lake, amidst the natural oasis of Meadow Lake Provincial Park, lies the cozy Waters Edge Eco Lodge. This Indigenous accommodation with a special focus on sustainability is owned by the local Waterhen Lake First Nation. The lodge offers nine guestrooms in the main lodge and three cabins.

In June 2025, they will open their new Tipi Village, just a few steps from the main lodge. The village features 10 tipis, each set on a sturdy wooden foundation and designed for a fully immersive experience. Built with sustainable materials, they offer both comfort and a deep connection to nature. Further to this eco-friendly accommodation, guests can enjoy two different activity packages with an Indigenous focus:

a. Askiy – a land experience: a 3-hour excursion which includes a guided trail tour, wildlife viewing, berry picking and tipi teaching

b. Acâhkos – a celestial experience: a 3-hour night excursion with star stories and star gazing

Both activities can be booked individually or within larger overnight packages which include tipi accommodation, Indigenous culinary and other culturally significant experiences, to introduce guests to the culture of the Waterhen First Nation.

Waters Edge Eco Lodge can be booked directly or through Canadvac Travel Services.
