NORTHWEST TERRITORIES –
A DESTINATION WITH A VIEW

Dear Canada friend,

In the Northwest Territories, this year's winter aurora season is slowly coming to an end. It's a shame, as views like this at legendary Ibyuk Pingo just outside Tuktoyaktuk on the Arctic Ocean not only take our breath away, but also awaken a lot of wanderlust... But the next aurora season is sure to come. Adventurous road trippers don't have to wait too long, as they have best chances to see dancing auroras in the starry night sky of the NWT already at the end of next summer.

Until then, we pass the time making new (travel) plans. Nothing could be better for a red-hot update on accommodations and travel experiences than the annual industry gathering Rendez-Vous Canada which will be in Québec City this year from May 30 - June 02, 2023. A delegation from the Northwest Territories will be there to answer your questions, not only about the aurora. Starting April 10, you can request appointments as an RVC buyer with the following partners:




ARCTIC TOURS CANADA

Arctic Tours Canada is a receptive tour operator and specializes in travel experiences in and around Yellowknife. Their focus is on Aurora programs in particular, but also on city tours, wildlife watching, outdoor activities such as dog sledding tours or guided hikes, as well as Indigenous experiences and tours to the Arctic Ocean. The customized group programs include transfers, accommodations, activities and professional tour guides.

CANADIAN NORTH

The 100 % Inuit-owned airline Canadian North is headquartered in Kanata, Ontario and operates scheduled passenger services to many destinations in Canada’s North. With a versatile fleet of Boeing 737s and ATR 42s, it connects 25 communities within the Northwest Territories, Nunavut und Nunavik as well as Southern hubs in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Montréal. The latest addition to their network is the routing Calgary – Yellowknife. Canadian North is also providing charter flights across North America and beyond for all kind of groups. CHATEAU NOVA YELLOWKNIFE

Hotel Chateau Nova Yellowknife stands in a prime location at the city entrance and is an ideal base for exploring Yellowknife. EXPLORER HOTEL YELLOWKNIFE

With its 259 rooms, the Explorer Hotel, located at the city entrance to Yellowknife, is currently the largest hotel in northern Canada. Conveniently located less than five minutes from downtown Yellowknife and less than a 30-minute walk from the Old Town, the hotel is an ideal base for exploring the capital of the Northwest Territories.

Guests are accommodated in the cozy Superior or Deluxe Rooms featuring HDTV, microwave, refrigerator and safe, or the spacious Signature Suites, which additionally have a separate living area with mini-kitchenettes. Selected rooms also feature fireplaces and hot tubs. AIR NORTH

Air North, the airline of the Yukon Territory, also makes an important contribution to the accessibility of the Northwest Territories. The twice-weekly seasonal flight between Whitehorse and Toronto, operates via Yellowknife.

At RVC, Air North can be found in the section of the Yukon Territory.
