Dear Canada friend,

When thinking of Saskatchewan, you usually imagine a vast prairie landscape. But the province in Canada's heartland has a second face! While the south is covered with golden fields, grasslands, rolling hills and barren badlands, the north of the province is dominated by endless forests, crystal clear lakes and wild rivers. A little-discovered masterpiece of nature that after all makes up a good two-thirds of Saskatchewan! Nowhere else does the water seem bluer, the forest greener, the sunset more intense and the sky more endless than here!

Enjoy reading!

Remai Modern:
New art installation Spinner Forest

Remai Modern enjoys a prominent location on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River and has been an integral part of Saskatoon's city skyline since it opened in 2017. In addition to regularly changing traveling exhibitions, it houses more than 7,700 exhibits as well as the world's most extensive collection of linocuts and ceramic objects by the great Pablo Picasso. Remai Modern is considered the most innovative contemporary art museum in North America.

The latest art istallation at Remai Modern is the Spinner Forest. The large-scale work by Chicago-based artist Nick Cave is made up of strands of thousands of wind spinners that cascade from the ceiling and envelop the staircase from Level 1 to Level 2, making the entire room seem to be permanently in motion. A great show!

New sample itinerary from/to Edmonton:
Discover North Saskatchewan
& the Rolling Hills

Saskatchewan’s North is often overlooked when planning a road trip through Canada's heartland. Yet it has so much to offer and, with its vast forests and countless lakes, provides an exciting contrast to the prairie landscape of the southern province. The provincial parks Makwa Lake and Lac La Ronge promise a just as fantastic backdrop for outdoor adventure as Prince Albert National Park. How about a ride on the Wheatland Express excursion train afterwards? Saskatoon, the "Pearl of the Prairies", is hip and modern and the starting point for profound Indigenous experiences, such as Wanuskewin Heritage Park. If you long for a rolling prairie landscape after all, you‘ll find what you are looking for on a detour to La Reata Ranch, before heading to Drumheller and back to Edmonton.

Your RTO partners can help you putting together an individual itinerary and booking accommodation.
