Falcon Trails Resort: Cabin life at its best

Falcon Trails Resort lies in a remote, dreamlike location on scenic Falcon Lake. Guests are accommodated in one of their private self-catering lakeside cabins, with 9 of them being standard cabins and 3 of them a bit larger in size. The standard cabins each have up to 5 beds, their own kitchen, bathroom with shower and a cozy fireplace in the living room. In addition, each cabin has a spacious sun deck with BBQ and a screened porch with hot tub. Each cabin has direct access to the lake with a private dock.

If you are looking for even more remoteness, you can stay in one of the 5 luxurious Eco Cabins on High Lake, about 1.6 miles away. These cabins can only be reached on foot, while the luggage is transported by ATV.

Falcon Trails Resort is ideal for those who want to experience the typical Canadian cabin life off the beaten path without having to drive hundreds of miles into the wilderness. Canoes, SUPs and fat bikes are available for rent at any time. The resort also has a small sauna right by the lake.

Numerous trails around the resort take into the beautiful scenery of Whiteshell Provincial Park. You get one of the best views from the Top of the World hike. The 2.5 miles trail is gorgeous in all seasons and brings you to the highest elevation in the area, with spectacular views of Falcon Lake. The trailhead is accessible from the parking lot at Falcon Trails Resort.

Whiteshell Petroforms: Indigenous walks at Bannock Point Petroforms

Bannock Point Petroforms is a sacred site of the Anishinaabe in the north Whiteshell Provincial Park. It features rocks carefully arranged in the shapes of humans and snakes, birds and turtles in moss-covered rocks on the Canada’s Precambrian shield. They are believed to have been placed here centuries ago for teaching and healing ceremonies. Visitors can either explore the petroforms by themselves or by joining a tour with Diane Maytwayashing from Whiteshell Petroforms. The Anishinaabe knowledge keeper knows these rocks well and takes visitors on guided walks of the sacred site, sharing stories of the teachings and healings that continue to this day through ceremony and song. Visitors learn about the original name of the site – Manidoo-Abi – that loosely translates into “where the spirit sits”.
